Parga: an area with impressive beaches.

 

Where Epirus meets the Ionian Sea, around a beautiful colorful city, you will discover sandy beaches with exotic waters that will make you feel like an island.

Tip: You can access the beaches either by car or by boats starting from the port of Parga.

Πισω Κρυονέρι

Kryoneri-Back Kryoneri

The central sandy beach of Parga is Kryoneri, located just 3 meters from Pargabella. Just below is the smaller sandy beach of Back Kryoneri, which is surrounded by high rocks, is organized and has pebbles and some sand.

Βαλτος

Valtos / Chrysogiali

To the west of Parga lies perhaps the most famous and cosmopolitan beach of the area, Valtos. The largest beach of Parga, the length of which reaches 3 km and is located behind the Venetian castle of Parga. The beach is covered by fine golden sand, has clear waters, without strong winds. It is also awarded with the Blue Flag and has access for the disabled.

ΛΙΧΝΟΣ 01

Lichnos

To the east, 3 km outside the city of Parga is Lychnos beach, which is located in a green landscape. The beach is surrounded by the green of the mountain and the olive groves of Parga, which in combination with the clear blue and crystal clear waters make it one of the most beloved and special beaches of Parga. The beach is sandy, but also has pebble spots. Lychnos also has two small sea caves, that are worth discovering.

Sarakiniko

A little further away, 12 km from Parga, after the village of Agia is Sarakiniko.  It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area and offers a quiet holiday, with blue and crystal clear waters and fine sand on the most part.

Καραβοστάσι

Karavostasi

At a distance of 23 km from Parga is one of the most famous beaches in the area, Karavostasi. Its beach is large in width and length with coarse sand. Its waters are clear and deep. The landscape is complemented by two green hills that surround its coast.

Αϊ Γιαννάκης

Agios Giannakis

Just before you reach the village of Agia Kyriaki, 5 km from Parga, you will meet the beautiful bay of Agios Ioannis. It is a small pebble beach, which is preferred by many people, because it is quiet and its waters are crystal clear. It is not organized, however above the beach there is a canteen with nice sea views.

Αμμουδια

Ammoudia

Ammoudia beach is located 24 km from Parga. Arriving at the beach you will notice a very wide beach with fine sand, and shallow crystal clear waters, suitable for families and children. In Ammoudia, the river “Acheron” “ends” creating a beautiful scene next to the beach with a small “canal”, framed by restaurants.

Alonaki

Alonaki beach is the first beach you can meet from Preveza to Parga. To get there you will need to go down a  path and then a few steps. The view is spectacular. Turquoise waters, rich vegetation to the shore and a wild beauty! It is a very clean beach and is not organized, so prepare properly.

Όρμος του Οδυσσέα

Ormos of Odysseus

A little south of Parga and near the village of Valanidorachi, the Ormos of Odysseus or the beach of Kerentza (as the locals call it) is a wonderful beach, where the myth is intertwined with the beauty of nature. This beach is said to have been chosen by Odysseus to avoid the fate of the gods, concerned with the ominous prophecy of Mantis Teiresias. It is a sandy and unorganized beach with shallow waters, chosen for years by visitors with caravans, as the area is ideal for alternative tourism.
